POLICIES/INFORMATION
Below you can learn more about my lesson policies for scheduling, payment, cancellations, and expectations.
Lesson Policies
COMMUNICATION
-
All communication regarding lessons, recording sessions, and performances are to be made by reaching out through the "contact" page, or via email at info@dominicrossetti.com, as well by phone at (609) 513-4357.
Hours of communication for lessons are:
8am-8pm Monday-Thursday
8am-3pm Friday-Sunday
LOCATION
-
In-person lessons are available in one of two ways: in the students home, or from my own home studio in Spotswood, NJ; usually, the prior is the most comfortable option for everybody, especially children with busy after school schedules.
If I am coming to you, please make sure that there are appropriate parking accommodations, as I am bringing equipment and materials with me and cannot carry them very far.
PAYMENT
-
I offer various methods of accepting payment, such as: Cash, Check, Zelle, and Venmo. Checks are to be made out to Dominic Rossetti.
-
Payment for each month's worth of lessons (one lesson every week) is to be made in advance after the very first lesson, or trial lesson.
TRIAL LESSONS
-
A one-time trial lesson is available for potential incoming students.
-
Trials are 30 minutes long, and offer a brief insight into what these lessons are like.
ATTENDANCE, CANCELLATIONS, "NO SHOWS," AND MAKE UPS
-
Tuition is based on enrollment, not attendance. The time you are scheduled for is set aside just for you, and sudden cancellation inhibits me from being able to rebook that slot with short notice.
-
If you have a lesson booked and you are no longer available for that day, I need at least 24 hours notice in advance to reschedule, to avoid forfeiture of your payment.
-
Whether I am traveling to a students home, or if the student is coming to my studio, and the student cancels the day of (without reasonable cause, such as sudden illness or major emergency) that lesson will not be able to be rescheduled. Payment for that lesson (if made in advance) will be forfeited, or any payment that would be expected post said lesson is to be made before or during the next one.
-
IN CASE OF SUDDEN ILLNESS OR EMERGENCY - unexpected situations (such as illness or major emergencies) are to be expected on occasion. In case of sudden illness or an emergency situation on the day of your scheduled lesson, please notify me by phone or email as early in the day as possible, and we will coordinate a make-up day.
-
Habitual cancellations or abuse of the "makeup" policy will force me to reconsider your enrollment. I have a limited number of spots available for consistent students, and if you are continually cancelling or postponing your lesson, it hinders me from being able to offer that time slot to someone else. If you are found guilty of this, you will be refunded for whatever remaining lessons you have prepaid for, and your enrollment will be terminated.
-
Last minute (day of) bookings are often not possible, and any last minute booking that I accept is solely based on my availability and at my discretion. It is not to be anticipated that I may accept a last minute booking, as my days are often on a fixed schedule.
-
Students who are late to their scheduled lesson will only have the remaining amount of time left that they are scheduled to. My lessons are often scheduled back to back, or with a short window in between. Only at my own discretion, will I be able to accommodate make up time to roll over if available. Please be on time, as I surely will be.
MATERIALS
-
I provide physical copies of exercises, song charts, and any other materials necessary for the topic of each lesson. It is the responsibility of the student to hold on to these materials in a folder or binder. If the materials are damaged or lost over time, I can always make copies, but will need ample notice to be able to provide them for an upcoming lesson.
-
Students should be equipped with a folder, notebook, or binder to ensure proper handling of study materials, homework, and notes. If they would like to record each session for later reference, audio recordings are permitted during lessons, if the student brings such a device.
-
Each student should have their own instrument and accessories. Guitar students need a guitar, an amplifier (if it is electric), a tuner, strap, picks, as well as extra strings if necessary. I may not be able to provide any of these materials depending on the location.
EXPECTATIONS
EXPECTATIONS OF STUDENTS
-
Students are to be on time, and ready to experience an enjoyable, insightful, and personalized lesson made just for them.
-
It is imperative to practice whatever topic is being studied in the lessons on your own time. Music students will not see any growth or improvement without practice. Daily practice is highly recommended, and any length of time dedicated to practicing is better than none. The work is on the student; and unfortunately, I cannot practice for you. My lessons are strictly to show you how to get to where you want to be as an aspiring guitarist, answer questions, and guide you efficiently. Diligent, efficient practice, will lead to amazing results. Every moment of practice adds up like putting money in a bank, it's that simple.
-
If a student has not practiced the required materials to advance in the next lesson, we will be forced to go over it again until the student is ready. Proper preparation is an absolute must for a solid foundation, or no further advancement would be achievable.
EXPECTATIONS OF MYSELF
-
I hold myself to a very high standard in this line of work, and am qualified through major professional experience to teach budding musicians. I have taught hundreds of students of all ages over the past several years, and my care and attention for them, as well as each lesson has never once wavered.
-
I am a professional performer first, and apply real-world experience to each lesson. The difference between myself and many other teachers or schools is that I am out performing 200 nights a year all over the country, using my own methods to understand and make high quality music. It is imperative to know the difference between the theoretical study of music and performance side of it; I teach both.
-
You can expect prompt, professional communication from myself. If you can't get in touch with me right away, I surely will return the call as soon as I am available.
-
I give myself ample time to get to your lesson, and you can count on my reliability. If there is ever an emergency or sudden situation on my end, you will be notified, and we will arrange a make up lesson.
-
Between the months of May through September are my busiest performing-wise. During those months I have to alter my availability, and condense my lessons to select days and times throughout the week. Leading up to that time, you will be notified and we can arrange our schedules accordingly.
